North Star Academy
At the heart of the stage—and the classroom—Ms. Mood guided K–2 students on enchanting journeys of self-expression through theater arts. With teaching 18 engaging weekly classes, she ignited imaginations and nurtured young performers, helping their voices grow stronger in diction, movement, and character. Her lessons explored diverse cultural themes, always encouraging students to express their truest, most joyful selves. Each week, "Magic Mood" led a heartfelt community circle, where students, staff, and occasionally, local officials and families gathered to connect, reflect, and celebrate togetherness. Throughout the year, she united the school community with joyful performances inspired by classroom themes, Courage, Justice, Responsibility, Caring, and Respect, which resulted in fabulous plays and significant celebrations—including Kwanzaa, Black History Month, and Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month. Beyond the spotlight, Mood was a creative force, supporting staff and school leadership with care and fostering warm, collaborative relationships with families. Her work was a blend of joy, structure, and community—
Showing that a touch of theater magic truly makes a difference.
